2011 FORD FIESTA MYCARLADY test drive review gives you the consumer-oriented version for real people spending their own money.

With all the hype about the Ford Fiesta, I was really looking forward to driving this car. I’ve driven a lot of Ford entry-level product (Festiva, Focus, Escort, Condor) over the years and was so hoping this car would be different.

Well it is.

I drove the top of the line SES, which features leatherette, SYNC, Alloy wheels, push-button start and no moon-roof or navigation available.I was most impressed with the suspension and handling. The bumps are not bad and dips didn’t send me into the roof. The steering was tight and responsive, tracking through all my cones and slaloms, with hardly any body roll on hard corners. Not that I’m much of a racer, but considering the age group this car is targeting, forget trying to fade this car on dry asphalt. The standard engine configuration of the Ford Fiesta is a 1.6l 4cyl 119 horsepower with 109 ft. lbs. of torque at a much lower rpm (4250) than other models in this class. The CVT (automatic), like all CVT’s , squealed when I floored the gas pedal almost to the red line before it got into traffic. However, on smoother in motion acceleration it snapped to it and once to speed moved smartly and stays with the traffic without much effort.

The exterior design is very European, leaving hardly a trace of it’s “FORD” DNA if you didn’t have the ugly blue oval smack on the grill. The shape allowed for aerodynamic efficiency without being buffeted by the wind. Unlike the Honda Fit, the car the Fiesta most closely resembles, the roominess inside the Ford defies the extended height of the Honda, sans the glass. The Fiesta features minimal glass, small windows, back-hatch and windshield all wedged into a high belt-line, which left a few blind-spots in the third (C) pillar, if you didn’t use the deluxe mirrors with the wide-angle extension embedded in the outside corners. The color choices are typical neutrals and a handful of brilliant youthful colors all draped in a black interior, (hot for the desert). The paint finish was amazing; smooth, rich metallic in rich iridescent tonalities that glowed and changed in the light, as if customized for a street rod. Not a domestic dimple or orange peel to be found, congratulations. I’d drop an upgrade of chrome exhaust tips on the two tiny tubes peaking out from under the bumper, they looked small and cheap, defusing the excitement of the visual package. Wrap around lamps, turning signals on the sideview mirrors and a sloped back hatch that opens straight up, make the Fiesta more amenable to tall passengers in the rear, and those standing in the back loading the hatch won’t hit their head.

Inside the fit and finish has certainly been upgraded to the 21st century, with touches of chrome and aluminum paint breaking-up the predominantly black cave. The dash, wide and flat gives more room to the front passenger and driver, while the windshield has a distinctive rake. The radio controls and keypad for dialing made the center console look very high tech, back-lit in red with toggle buttons for navigating the stereo, Bluetooth, and SYNC, but you will have to pull over or take your eyes off the road to manage these features as they are not ergonomically easy. Though the console control buttons are large, a subtle pitch to the left would have been handy, not to mention, the door lock/unlock button was not on the door. Be prepared to look high and low before locating this lit/unlit feature in the center of the console, below the radio volume control.

No armrest for the driver was a bummer, like the MAZDA 2, it’s half-sister. In the rear seat behind the driver, I was surprised how tight the knee room was, maybe 2″ with a barely 60 degree door opening and a rather deep sill, entering and exiting is not for the over fifty crowd. The cargo area with the seats up is 12.3 cu inches, the smallest in the class. The

The seats are reasonably comfortable but I wouldn’t recommend the leatherette in LAS VEGAS or other desert climates, for obvious reasons. The sound system was a solid plus with balanced speakers in proportion to the cabin, they replaced the outside world noise with medium volume and no distortion. The iPod AUX jack and USB port are easily accessible, unlike some hidden in the glove box. The SYNC is by far the coolest technology in the auto industry right now. Voice command recognition, music player upload and Bluetooth integration are features usually found in cars twice the price.

Fuel economy is the highest in the class with a whooping 29 city and 38 highway in an AUTOMATIC!

Warranty is 3 years/36k miles basic limited and 5yr./60K powertrain, an upgrade on the powertrain over the others in this class.

Prices start at $15,999 for the base model and the SES loaded was $21,200.00 (I think the middle range competitively equipped to the the Honda Fit Sport and Mazda 2 Sport I drove previously, this car comes in the highest at $20,200.00)

All in all the 2011 Ford Fiesta delivers a very nice package that competes evenly with the others in the class.

PROS: Handling, SYNC, seats and paint colors/finish. GENDER-AGE-neutral

CONS: Back seat leg room, hatch cargo space, no arm rest standard, price.

UAW vs. Ford BRAZIL changing auto production internationally and our global car economy; Ford Fiesta, MAZDA2, Fiat500 world cars.

The world economy is truly affected by automobile production, where domestic and foreign name plates are no longer tied to import/export rules as home grown auto plants in every continent by every car company including Ford, GM, Chrysler, Toyota, Nissan, BMW, Hyundai, KIA and Honda, producing world cars like the Ford Fiesta, Mazda2, BMW x5 and Fiat 500.

This video from Detroit Auto News journalists and videographers tell the story of the future of automotive production, technology and international cooperation. It is well worth watching. Not only is the factory automated, but the employee integration hearkens back to Edward Deeming and his approach to quality manufacturing in the last century.

Consider other American-born endeavors ready to emerge in a new form as our economy struggles to stay competitive and grow in this new world order. Look at the book business today, retailers now publish their own authors and retailers sell books online for Kindle, Nook and iPad use and colleges and universities are revisiting the textbook as a tool for innovation and interaction alongside online classes.

Post-secondary education is dramatically shifting to include international campus’ classes utilizing the best professors from around the world to teach in a virtual classroom where students log-in on their own schedule and work in study groups across time zones.

All of these re-created business concepts allow us to improve ourselves and the world at large. Welcome to the next generation of economic stability, it will surely require understanding and cooperation not fear mongering and protectionism.

FIND the top car makes for dealer factory close-out inventory blow-outs on model year end deals for 2010. MyCarlady tells you the best brands for LABOR DAY CAR DEAL SPECIALS.

The annual 2010 year end car deals, dealer clearance sales have begun but you must know where to look to score a great deal, because the specific makes and models in each auto manufacturer’s line-up are not always plentiful and easy to find. Dealer invoice or less, wholesale fleet pricing, huge dealer factory rebates and incentives can add up to over five thousand dollars off dealer factory invoice if you act fast because LABOR DAY holiday weekend CAR SALES EVENTS are usually the last big summer sales opportunity for the model year. Many 2011 models are already on dealer lots, but the car companies are still being cautious about production as the economy slugs along. Banks have fortunately started to loosen the credit reins enough to help the dealers find car loans for qualified buyers, but bad credit score consumers will find higher down payment and interest rate requirements.

MAKES AND MODELS TO LOOK FOR THIS YEAR-END CLOSE-OUT SALE SEASON:

2011 KIA SPORTAGE

SUVS: Check out the MAZDA CX-7 and CX-9. These highly rated consumer reports crossover suv’s are plentiful and have dealer incentives of over $2500.00 to make them go away. The 2011 CX’s won’t arrive until mid-late November. There may also be a few Nissan Rogue’s around at great prices. Don’t forsake the 2011 KIA Sportage and Sorento offering killer lease deals to compete with left-over 2010’s by other makes. Nissan ARMADA is another large suv with low interest rates and seven passenger capacity, although there are not as many around, but if you are flexible on color you could score this weekend.

TRUCKS: CHEVY and DODGE don’t have many 2010 leftovers at this point in the year, However, if you find one you can save over 5k, however don’t worry about switching to a new 2011, rebates and 0% financing may be a better deal on the truck you want with only the features you want, color and it’s a 2011! CHEVY has 5yr/100k warranty too!

CARS: Other than HYBRIDS, Toyota has plenty of Camry’s, Corolla’s and Avalon’s to deal on. Honda and Mazda are matching Toyota in lease payment offers on theMazda6, Mazda3, Accord and Civic sedans, not coupe. Nissan has a similar , Mazda and Toyota for selection.

SPORTS CARS: Kia Forte, Chevy Camaro, Mitsubishi Eclipse and Hyundai Tiburon are all at or below dealer invoice this holiday model year end blow-out. However, the 4cyl. Eclipse convertible may be harder to find.

MISC. There are plenty of 2010 Scion,Kia SOUL , Nissan CUBE and Honda Fit to be had.

Want to know if your car is a “steal” this holiday Y-E-M blow-out special? Email me and I’ll fill you in on what kind of deal you can expect from dealers in your area; Sarahlee@mycarlady.comIf you need any other car buying, selling, trading or financing assistance on any new or used vehicle, please do not hesitate to email me at sarahlee@mycarlady.com or give me a call; 702-521-7546

NEW 2010 STUDENT TEEN DRIVER permit and drivers license rules take effect as teens head back to school. Get the latest details www.mycarlady.com/teen-drivers

Back to School has a whole new connotation when you consider the teen drivers, student drivers and wanna-be road warriors chafing for wheel independence.

Beginning with a basic understanding of the rules of the road, anti-texting and DUI laws, millions of fifteen year olds are loading up on drivers ed classes in the hopes of achieving a learner’s permit or drivers license.

This year some states have RAISED the drivers license age to 18. Many states have invoked serious GRADUATED Licensing restrictions on new drivers under the age of 18. Along with a minimum mastery of 40 hours behind the wheel, including 10 hours of night time driving skills and some defensive driving techniques,a few states have added minimum school attendence, GPA grades and graduation requirements.

Parents are often guilted into buying a new car or sharing the family wheels in a “coming of age” ritual balancing the need for independence with convenience. In this economy, many parents have said NO to a teen driver’s license, revoking the priviledge until the student can handle the expense; “If you can’t afford the insurance and gas, you can’t drive,” one parent told her teen. “Get a job after school, maintain your grades to a B and save your money for your own car,” Cindy W., a sophomore at Las Vegas High School, repeated her parent’s response to sharing a car. “For now I take the bus because my friend’ who have licenses can’t have anyone under 18 in the car with them. That’s the law.”

Parents also impose the TEEN CONTRACT well before the driver’s ed classes begin, as a means of establishing guidelines and expectations. “I added the rule of not in anyone else’s car and no one else in ours, long before the law was in effect,” said Linda A., mother to a 22yr. old son, ” He wrecked two cars and now understands the value of a drivers license, not to mention, cost of car ownership. He bought his own car after totalling one of ours, and when he crashed his own car and didn’t have enough insurance money to get it fixed, he walked/bussed and bummed rides for a year before he saved enough money for the car and INCREASED insurance premium. It was a humbling experience, and a priceless life lesson.”

As parents and students continue the teen driver student driver debate this school year, many will turn to new car-installed technology, insurance discounts and defensive driving schools to determine the best fit for thier family situation.

When it comes time to buy a student driver a car, most will enlist a service like www.mycarlady.com to find the lowest price, safest car available for their first-time driver.

MyCarlady will continue this series of articles on TEEN driver awareness, so submit this form if you would like to receive the latest articles as they are released.

BEWARE of BAD USED CARs for sale. RESEARCH COMPLAINTS, RECALLS and BUYBACKS before you buy someone elses' LEMON! MYCARLADY spares you the pain and money by doing the work for you!

USED CAR COMPLAINTS, RECALLS and BUYBACKS are all the more to worry about when trying to find the right new or used car. I spend a lot of time researching the cars I find for my clients and also making sure the cars my clients want ME to help them sell, are worthy and in great, serviced condition. I discovered this website recently and wanted you to check it out when you have an issue or are thinking about buying a USED CAR. This website is easy to use and allows you to add your two-cents to the specific make and model you may be experiencing trouble with; www.carcomplaints.com.

I had a call from two different MYCARLADY.com blog readers the other day, both wondering if a 2007-2009 6.7L Dodge Cummins Diesel was a good replacement for their 2002-2003 Chevy DURAMAX . One had recently spent $4000.00 on new fuel injectors at 95,000 miles, after having them replaced under warranty several years before. You can’t find NEW fuel injectors for the 2002-2003 Chevy DURAMAX, so these were rebuilt by the factory. The second gentleman calling had the same concern; Does he spend 6K (not under warranty by 3 mos. according to the dealer) or should he buy a ‘07- 2007 Megacab 3500 Dodge 6.7L? for $33,000.00 with 60k miles on it, coming from California, some 1800 miles away?

Here is what I suggested:

OWNER-TRUCK #1. Keep the Chevy since the 2nd set of injectors had been done and the truck runs like a champ. The NEXT time a big expensive item shows up, don’t spend the money, trade for a used 2010 Dodge Ram 2500-3500 Cummins Diesel 6.7l with the new idle control unit on the top of the engine.

OWNER-TRUCK #2. The GMC -CHEVY factory rep should step up and pay for the new fuel injectors on the second truck, since the original injectors have NEVER been replaced, and the factory knew about the problem, hence the extended factory coverage. Under “GOODWILL” this client should be covered, at least for half the cost.

How amazing that CHEVY DURAMAX FUEL INJECTORS are hitting the 100k mark and dying to the tune of $6000.00! (this is the kind of stuff you learn on www.carcomplaints.com or www.NHTSA.com

For those considering buying a USED or left-over new 2007-2008-2009 DODGE RAM 2500-3500 CUMMINS DIESEL 6.7l… HEAR THIS: Many of these FOR SALE USED TRUCKS: 2007-2008-2009 Dodge Cummins 6.7l trucks have been repurchased by the Dodge factory as LEMON-LAW BUYBACKS in CALIFORNIA.

Californai is VERY strict about the 3-strike LEMON LAW rule. In California the LEMON LAW status must be disclosed at the auction, and in sales to consumers. The titles are clearly branded; LEMON-LAW BUYBACK. DO NOT DEPEND on CARFAX to tell you!

ALERT: Dealers from outside California are buying these trucks, clearing titles and selling them to unknowing clients without disclosing the BUYBACK branding. FURTHERMORE, they are CHARGING WAY TOO MUCH for these trucks considering the issues. Fortunately for the gentlemen that called me BEFORE they took delivery, I strongly suggested 3 things..

1. Take $5000.00 off the KBB book price on any Dodge Cummins diesel 2007-2009, and expect troubles.

2. If you buy one of these 2007-2008-2009 Dodge Cummins diesels with the 6.7l and plan to pull off the stock DPF, make sure you don’t have to do an emissions or smog test to get it registered in your state/county every year, and wont be ticketed for black smoke. (the black smoke usually comes out the first time to hit it hard after not driving for a few days.)

3. Know the problems with the design of the DPF-REGEN System makes it virtually IMPOSSIBLE for the local dodge dealership to “fix” the problem permanently. Don’t expect the dealer to cover anything in the engine under warranty if they can find a way to charge you because the “problem” is allegedly YOUR FAULT. The dealers always seem to find a way to charge you for something, and the check engine light will come back on, and the fuel economy will continue to be sub-par. (see lawsuit blog posts)

If you do want to add a product warranty on your Dodge, at least a basic engine, transmission, water-pump, air conditioning, 4wd, electric and seals/gasket coverage plan before it hits 150k miles, contact me at sarahlee@mycarlady.com.

Why Women buying cars need to understand why saying "gimme your best price" doesn't work and how to get the right answer and the best dealer invoice price for the car you really want, by MYCARLADY.

WHY Women Buying Cars hate car dealers, car shopping and more…

Every year zillions of dollars are spent by big business and research labs to crack the code to our purse strings and achieve the ultimate marketing nirvana; our brand loyalty.

Brand loyalty is the single most significant sales tool in the consumer-generating revenue machine, yet so many #FAIL to get it, especially in the automotive world.

PSST, here’s the secret to winning the loyalty of every woman in the world, as told to you by SARAH LEE aka: MyCarlady, female-consumer extraordinaire and consumer car advocate by predisposition.

The ANSWER to achieving brand loyalty among the women of today’s world is…

#1. LISTEN
#2. DELIVER
#3. REPEAT.

This is especially necessary in the world of women car shoppers, women car buyers and women drivers. The constant disconnect between this active consumer and the automobile industry desperate to serve them is hinged on one eternal phrase:
“Just give me your best price…”

“YBP” is the most often repeated phrase by a woman in a car dealership. This event is usually followed by a call, email or direct question to me… “Why is it so hard for them to just give me their best price, the first time, without the games? It’s like they don’t listen.”

Yup, LISTENING, or as my mother used to say: “are your hearing me?”

#1. LISTEN: Listening requires comprehension. Women complain the dealers, and by extension the dealership salespeople, don’t listen to what they say. However on closer inspection, unless you have designed a complete RPF (request for pricing) or BID sheet with all the detailed specifications required, a thorough explanation of the intended use of the vehicle and all supporting financial considerations, there is a fifty-fifty chance the price or the car will be wrong, and hence the “games” begin. If you would like to see a sample of the MYCARLADY RFP/BID sheet go to my website or click here:

In the beginning the games aren’t really games, as much as they are fact-finding missions to determine the right car for the buyers needs and budget. Not everyone does as much homework as they think, and this becomes much more apparent when you meet a well-trained salesperson who provides a detailed presentation, competitive analysis and appreciation for the intended use of the vehicle. For the woman car shopper this can be a huge help when starting the process of physically driving the cars and comparing attributes in person, however, if the dealership has not trained their staff to LISTEN and ask appropriate questions with a professional, open, friendly, positive attitude, the lights go out and Ms. Customer has left the building.

SO what’s the right answer to the “GIMME YOUR BEST PRICE?” it’s “YES MAAM, I’m happy to! Do you have a list of all the features and colors you want and will you need a monthly payment as well?” No nonsense. No games. In fact you can get the approx. price delivered in seconds without going to the dealership.

However, the price is just that, a price. It means nothing if the car is wrong, or wrong for you, so please indulge me as I ask you one question and LISTEN for your response…

“Is this the best car for your short and long term needs?”

The truth is there are also factors of financing and trade-in, two unique and highly personal (not to mention confidential) issues to add to the car buying equation. A car concierge, broker or buyers agent helps you focus on the entire profile of needs, wants and budget, before picking a selection of vehicles that fit the bill, but most car shoppers do their research backwards, becoming confused, frustrated and angry. It’s not the price first, it’s the needs, wants and budget first and the car second.

This is Part 1 of my 3 Part series on Women buying cars, but really, the “Listen, Deliver, Repeat” apply to every business and service in the world. Part 1. #LISTEN; “GIVE ME YOUR BEST PRICE…PLEEZ”

In the next segment: DELIVER, the second ingredient in the MYCARLADY’S secret to building brand loyalty, I will discuss our (female) expectations and perceived value versus the reality of the sale.

Keywords: women car buyers, women buying cars, fleet pricing, dealer invoice, best invoice pricing, new car shopping, auto brokers, car buyer agents

HONDA FIT COMPETITIVE TEST DRIVE REVIEW WITH AVEO,SCIONXD,MAZDA2,FORD FIESTA and more to come from MYCARLADY's SARAH LEE of LAS VEGAS GREAT WOMEN TEEN BUYER DRIVER

MYCARLADY HONDA FIT TEST DRIVE REVIEW tells all. I have been test driving all the new entry-level cars in the marketplace starting with the MAZDA2 and now the HONDA FIT. Next will be the Ford Fiesta, Chevy Aveo, ScionXD and anything else that starts around $16500.00 with air and manual transmission. The 2010 Honda FIT is a solid choice in this crowded class. The base and Sport model have the same 1.5L 117hp SOHC 16valve 4 cyl, but I think the SOHC adds to the sluggishness of the 1 and 2nd shift points, however that is really the only significant hesitation I had in the FIT. It is the roomiest in head room, leg room and storage with 20.6 Cu Ft when all seats are engaged. It is a 5 passenger if the middle person in the back is small and/or really skinny. There are no blind spots thanks to lots of glass all around. The interior is Honda typical, tight fit and finish, minimalist dash with simple well lit gauges, clever ergonomic dials and cool aluminum touches including paddle-shifters. The color selection is diverse, with clever features like split, fold and tumble second row seats, arm rest standard, ipod in the glove box. The upgraded stereo is well-balanced without throbbing against all the glass and you can add navigation and a moon-roof to the SPORT model’s 16″ alloys, fog-lamps, spoiler, stereo and shifters.
Handling is nimble without being too tight, no over steer or under-steer in making turns or easing into highway traffic. The wind and road noise some people complained about I didn’t find overly excessive, more typical of cars in it’s class, but the car felt solid on the road.

Warranty is 3yr/36k basic and 5yr/60k drive-train and so far resale figures are holding strong. HERE IS MY HONDA FIT VIDEO…
I encourage anyone considering a car in this group to take a good long look and test drive in the Fit. I gave it a 4.5 out of 5!

Political action committees lobbied by Cummins revealed as DPF issues persist amoung 2007-2009 Dodge RAM 2500-3500 6.7L cummins dpf diesels.

I recently found a really cool website that takes a specific URL for an article, blog post, website and does a political influence evaluation of the subject. In this case I used a recent blog post listing the twenty most popular articles I have written about the Dodge Cummins DPF problem on the 2007-2009 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks. Since Cummins was listed in the URl of every post, it rang-up a BIG keyword and delivered some very interesting information.

1. The Cummins company gave 52% of their political donations to the Democrats and 48% to the Republicans, so it was almost equally split on the preference scale.

2. HOWEVER, the other interesting factors this SUNLIGHT FOUNDATION ( a non-partisan, not-for-profit foundation working for greater transparency in government) web analyzer delivered was the names of the lobbyists Cummins hired, how much they spent on lobbying efforts : over $12 million, what committees they lobbied and how much these PAC’s got in financial aid. EXAMPLE : CUMMINS Most Frequently Disclosed Lobbying Issues:

Fed Budget & Appropriations,

Taxes,

Trade,

Energy & Nuclear Power,

Defense,

Homeland Security,

Transportation,

Environment & Superfund,

Clean Air & Water,

Foreign Relations

You can checkout the entire report here, but note the Sarah Lee listed isn’t me. http://influenceexplorer.com/organization/cummins-inc/40037198ed524ad7998db17c908bd06b

or go to this URL : http://influenceexplorer.com/ and put in your own URL’s, peoples names, companies or blog posts and see what you get for FUN FACTS…

BTW, Chrysler, Fiat, Dodge, Daimler and the lot are all heavily swayed to the Republican side although their donations were relatively small compared to Cummins.

Dodge, now Chrysler-Fiat, is dodging customer DPF diesel complaints by sending angry customers to another dealership, demanding-refusing-and demanding more paperwork proof on warranty claims and ignoring continuous customer

Three years after the introduction of the ill-fated 2007-2009 Dodge Ram 2500-3500 Cummins 6.7L diesel introduction it appears the new management at Dodge, now Chrysler-Fiat, is dodging customer DPF diesel complaints by sending angry customers to another dealership, demanding-refusing-and demanding more paperwork proof on warranty claims and ignoring continuous customer pleas, calls and legal threats.

With permission from the individuals whose emails are posted here, I give you further evidence of the frustration, anger and maligned customers of Dodge. …

”We purchased our 2007 Dodge 3500 6.7L HD LoneStar Dually in June 2008 with only 200 miles on it, no prior owner. Engine light was a constant issue and the entire emission system was finally replaced and computer updated. If that wasn’t enough, early 2009 I was left stranded roadside with 3 small children when the Manufactures work failed. The pin in the rocker came out throwing a rod and killed everything in sight including the flywheel. Warranties covered that issue and a week or so later we were back on the road. Engine light flare ups, so we go in for Progamming.
Just recently the issues have been hitting hard. We came out of church to find a huge puddle in front of the truck, my husband popped the hood to find almost all of the coolant drained out. A tow truck came to pick it up on Monday, the water pump was dead. While they had it in the shop we asked them to take a look at the driver head light that was bouncing while driving at night – the mount was broken when they did the emission repair. Who knew lights and emissions had parallel lines? Anyway, we also needed the clutch checked – it was allowing the truck to stall out. The finding were, one water pump replaced, one driver headlight replaced and not able to replicated clutch issue.
So we went pick up the truck and before we got 2 miles from the shop, my husband turned around and went back. There was no A/C, so if they could not replicate the clutch issues wh didn’t they notice not having an A/C when its 100 degrees outside?
They kept it for 5 more days to fix the fan clutch, and a/c compressor – the Texas heat is to blame they say for the the water pump and the a/c. And back to the clutch, it was found it disengages by itself, therefore causing the truck to stall. The service rep says we are at fault for pulling heavy trailers with the truck, that makes the clutch go out on a Heavy Duty Dually at 30,000 miles. We might pull a heavy load twice a month – not impressed with the blame game and we are paying out of pocket because the clutch is not covered under warranties past 12,000 miles.
So at this point, since the emission replacement and all the other manufacture issues we are at whits end and need help.
I would love to read into the class action suit. We can not continue to pay for a truck that can’t pull a load in the Texas heat and spends more time in the shop than on the road.
Sorry for being so long winded, just frustrated.
Angela B———————————–

and from Cecilia…

”WE HAVE HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH OUR 2008 DODGE 3500. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP GOING ON
2 1/2 MONTHS AND DODGE REFUSES TO STAND BEHIND THE 100,000 MILE WARRANTY ON THE ENGINE. THE ENGINE BLEW UP WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS 10 HOURS FROM HOME AT WORK. THEY HAULED THE TRUCK TO A DEALER NEAR TO WHERE HE WAS WORKING. THEY HAVE BEEN SUCH JERKS AND RUDE PEOPLE. WE ABSOLUTELY HATE DODGE AND WILL NEVER BUY ONE AGAIN, THEY ASK FOR PROOF AND YOU PROVIDE IT AND THEY SAY IT IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH.”

and finally…

I receive over thirty emails a week from unhappy Dodge owners anxious for a legal remedy to this problem. Today one email suggested that if every unhappy Dodge 6.7L diesel owner contributed a few bucks to a fund to run advertisements on TV, then maybe Dodge would be embarrassed into doing something. While I have sent this suggestion onto the lawyers of the class-action lawsuit, I think there is another option…

THIS IS AN ELECTION SEASON and the DEMS are in trouble of losing the majority, perhaps if all the disgruntled Dodge owners rang-up or wrote (emailed) their representatives and senators in Congress and demanded to know why Ray LaHOOD, the head of the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration is not addressing the this issue with DODGE, as vehemently as he persecuted Toyota, maybe someone would take notice, even responsibility??? You can reference this blog with the hundreds of pages of public comments and complaints.

I ask “Must we have to have dead bodies to hold our own American/Italian car company responsible? Isn’t taking US Taxpayer money under false pretenses, (the trucks fail to perform as promised and all warranty claims are subject to rebuke) a national concern? Could it be President Obama, in publicly promising that such warranties would be honored during and post-BK, didn’t understand the extent of this problem, as the US TAXPAYERS bailed CHRYSLER companies out, then gave the company away to FIAT? IS the EPA’s rush to reduce sulfur emissions to blame and too close to home to call out DODGE and Cummins for rushing this to market?

I would love to see a wagon train of these DODGE trucks driving towards Washington, circling the White House and blowing chunks into the air while idling amidst beltway traffic, but alas, I’m not sure how many of these RAM 6.7L diesel trucks would actually make it. Stay tuned for more information as W. Craft Hughes gives us an update on the class-action lawsuit later this week.
