The 2013 Holiday Car Sales start Memorial Day
What can you expect from new and used car dealers this 2013 Memorial Day Weekend?
The new car inventories are finally showing signs of balancing out a reasonable selection of colors and options across the board for most car makers.
That said, there is limited haggling when it comes to the hot selling 2013 Porsche Cayenne, 2014 Porsche Cayman and 2013 Porsche Boxster Boxster, Ford Flex and Edge, Chevrolet Corvette, almost every Audi or Range Rover model and the new Toyota Rav.
If you are not shopping those brands, the incentives are typically $500-$1000 depending on the manufacturer, popularity and/or expense of the model.
For example here are a few tidbits from Toyota. Notice you can have the CASH or the 0% for up to 60 months, which is really the better deal, unless you can get a interest rate below 3% and will pay the car off sooner than the term. If this is your situation, take the rebate and finance elsewhere, however, you would want to pay the vehicle off by year 3.5 to get more bang for the buck than the $3000.00 of the bigger incentive. BTW, Tier 1 and 2 means over a 700 credit score to qualify. You will still have to put some money down as most banks will NOT finance dealer fees, warranty and taxes.
Luxury Car Makers Offer Conquest, Competitive and Loyalty Incentives to Capture Memorial Day Car Buyers.
If you own a Mercedes Benz. BMW, Jaguar and want one of those OTHER makes, it’s a great time to make the switch.
Jaguar is offering $2000 to get you out of your MB or BMW, and many dealerships are paying considerably more for your trade-in, regardless of any early lease termination or remaining loan balance.
Porsche is paying up to 12 months of your current Porsche Financial remaining lease payments if you switch to another Porsche model! Recently Chris W. walked away from over $7,000 in remaining payments to grab a great deal on a 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe and the new payment was less than when he got a quote for the same car two years earlier. “This new 2013 is the new 991 body style Carrera 911, which was the reason I didn’t lease the 911 (997 body style) back then,” he offered.
TRUCKS and Large SUV’s MAX out rebates at $5000
If you need a large crew cab truck or 7 passenger SUV, look for rebates to top $4500, especially on Dodge RAM, Chevy Silverado, and GMC. The new GMC body styles are due in 2014, looking similar to the front end of the Cadillac Escalade, so the last of the old body style is being offered with enhanced rebates to move the heavy iron off the lot before September rolls around. You will get your best selection of colors and option packages if you make a move now rather than waiting til August. Ford has some strong offers and their Eco-boost and Flex-fuel engines in the 6 cyl. F150 are HOT SELLERS!
REBATE and INCENTIVE REMINDERS:
1. You cannot have both. It’s rebate or special interest/lease rate, NOT BOTH.
2. Not all incentives apply. You may not be able to get the customer cash rebate AND the first-time buyer, military or other “special” rebate, too!
3. Special Finance Rates or Lease incentives are based on superior, excellent, over the top AUTO FICO credit scores.
This means a 720 credit score or better.
4. Trade-ins are subject to scrutiny, so give your old hooptie a bath, vacuum out the dog hair and cheerios before rolling onto the lot. This little bit of effort may get you an extra $500.00 bucks.
