NEWSFLASH from SARAH LEE:     CHRYSLER BANKRUPTCY and LV DEALERSHIPS CLOSING  -

IS THIS A GOOD TIME TO BUY?–  WHERE IS SARAH LEE NOW?  –

    HOW IS YOUR CREDIT LATELY?

PHONE CALLS  PHONE CALLS… STOP THE CALLS  Many of you have received calls from XXXX dealership CHRYSLER-JEEP-DODGE announcing a “FACTORY FORCED LIQUIDATION, this is not a sale”  WHOA****  This is the management at xxxxx dealership using purchased customer lists. The callers ARE NOT FACTORY REPS.  The factory is not telling them to GIVE AWAY their inventory, as a matter of fact, most dealers will barely have enough cars to get through the summer.  Chrysler has given many dealers of single brand dealerships 90 days to merge with other single brand stores.  They have also promised to pay all rebates and buy remaining 2009 NEW inventory. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS HYSTERIA.  THE TRUTH is many dealers were holding on in the hopes that CHRYSLER would pay them to close their dealerships. When THAT didn’t happen, they closed. They weren’t selling enough to justify staying open and paying rent/staff. It started with quality issues, gas prices and then lack of financing available to help get customers car loans during tough times. A PERFECT STORM for business disaster. Until the CHRYSLER bankruptcy is OVER, no one but the big shots in Detroit know which models will stay and which will go. As such, I am advising YOU to limit your purchases to JEEP WRANGLER, LIBERTY and GRAND CHEROKEE, as these models are very strong sellers.  The promise of LOWER PAYMENTS, is unlikely if you owe more on your car than it’s worth. Furthermore, all 3 domestic models have cut their leasing programs to almost nil, making the lease payment you have now a BARGAIN worth EXTENDING!
These calls are desperate measures to get customers in the door with promises that have nothing to do with your best interest! DON’T BUY ANY CAR before you call me… WANT TO KNOW MORE? CALL ME 521-7546

GM is NEXT. GM has announced the closing of 1000 dealerships across the country. The PONTIAC brand will cease to exist July 1st.

Expect to see SATURN, SAAB, GMC, to follow in the next year.  Watch Chevy cars and trucks, Cadillac and Buick survive. Ford has already put Mercury on notice, expect Lincoln to move in with Ford. The new HENDERSON MERCEDES BENZ dealership opened quietly this week. Watch for the fireworks and big ad blast to come in the next few weeks as they get the kinks worked out.

Findlay’s new AUDI dealership is under construction across from the Toyota dealership. Centennial Hyundai is closed, and World Kia may be moving across the street soon.  Imagine 10-12 empty dealerships by this time next year.  Only the companies with great customer service will survive.

WHERE DO YOU GO FOR SERVICE?
For now I am referring all DODGE CHRYSLER and Jeep service to Chapman’s in the Valley Automall and on E. Sahara, where they built a new building. Ryan Payne is the Service Manager over both locations. He does a great job making sure his staff gives SARAH LEE clients extra special attention! TELL THEM I SENT YOU!

  2. 2010 Ford Fusion HYBRID MYCARLADY test drive review

April 14, 2009 by My Carlady

LAS VEGAS, NV– I heard alot about the new Ford Fusion Hybrid   so I decided it was time to drive one. Being an avid alternative fuel junkie, I’ve driven all the competitors in this class: Toyota Prius, Honda (original) Insight, Chevy Malibu, Saturn Vue and I own a 2007 Hybrid Civic Hybrid. I have to admit my love of the fuel economy is tempered only by the lack of trunck storage and horse-power in most of these hybrid 4 cyl. sedans. I was tempted to buy a Mercury SUV last year, but chickened out when I realized the car might last longer than the brand. That said, the Ford Fusion didn’t disappoint me at all. The fit and finish is solid and the trunk has room for two golf bags. It has a real car dash, console and feel, which is certainly a plus when you’ve been driving as long as I have. The Pruis took too much “getting use to” for my simple toy-rad mind. Give me easy to understand graphs and pictures and touch screens whenever possible. The Fusion has lots of graphs and  cool t.v.-like screens with dreamscapes to tell me how much gas I’m not using. It is quiet on the road and has solid handling, suspension and turning radius. It takes the bumps with easy and doesn’t throw you around in the bolstered seat when cornering hard. It sits higher up than the competition so you don’t feel like you are going to get run over or can’t see around you. The visability is clear sailing with no nasty blind spots. Getting in and out of it isn’t a struggle. It has 175 HP which allows it to accelerate without the FRED FLINTSTONE wind-up. More guts than the Honda, the price was the only thing that put a hitch in my excitement UNTIL the guys at FORD told me the FUSION gets the BIGGEST TAX CREDIT:  of all the hybrids in the market: a whooping $3400.00, which then puts it firmly in the front of the pack. That TAX SAVINGS is on top of the AUTO sales TAX credit you get for buying a car in 2009.  ON TOP OF ALL THAT MONEY YOU ARE SAVING… the FORD guys  told me I can get my MYCARLADY clients a SCREAMING discount on these brand new models, so if you are thinking GREEN+FORD FUSION= My Carlady!
Call me… 702-521-7546 In the meantime, enjoy the testdrive: MYCARLADY TEST DRIVES 2010 Ford Fusion HYBRID

  3. FORD offers payment protection and 0%

March 31, 2009 by My Carlady

    Las Vegas, NV–

    Ford f150 highest residual value

    Ford f150 highest residual value

Ford Motor Company announced their own version of Buyer Payment protection today.  Joining the ranks of Hyundai and AutoNation in Florida, the rush to comfort car buyer jitters has reached a new high. Ford, the only US car company NOT TAKING federal bailout cash, is offering up to $700.00 a month to cover your car payment, for up to one year.  The qualifying terms are pretty similar to the others; must have made 3 payments, been involuntarily pink-slipped and any negative difference in the payment are your responsibility to make up.

The Ford Advantage Plan runs through June 1, 2009 and is available on all Ford, Mercury and Lincoln products. 2009_lincoln_mkz_20232711-e1

What is even cooler about Ford’s plan is the additional savings of 0% interest to credit-qualified buyers on select models.  Given the current attitude of car buyers towards the Big 3, Ford may earn the MVP of car companies on sheer business savvy with this over-the-competition offer, newly released Fusion Hybrid, Fiesta and the Ford Tech computer with internet capability demonstrated during a recent edition of ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover.

Add to this consumer-oriented initiative  the antics of Ford’s social media guru, Scott Monty. Monty proctors countless web portals to keep Ford ahead of every other car maker with an army of loyal Twitter followers.  Follow him on TWITTER @scottmonty, for all the latest stuff you need to know or couldn’t care less about FORD, but you can bet Ford will be the first to the finish line on the rough road to recovery.

  4. 0% financing on what models?

March 12, 2009 by My Carlady

Las Vegas, NV–  montecarlossO%  financing for 60 months isn’t gone yet. However it will be a distant memory if Chrysler and GM turn to bankruptcy reorganization to salvage the remains of their business’.  The problem isn’t attracting buyers to the 0%, it’s getting those anxious consumers auto loan qualified.  The rest of the car buyers are struggling with debt overload and high payments based on interest rates over 15% . Negative equity in their trade-ins and minimal cash down payment add to the woes. The dealers want to sell cars, but the auto loan stranglehold is choking the delivery process.

0% has little to do with auto loans and more to do with marketing.  For those with savings, the idea of no interest for five years may have been the way to get the money out of the mattress and into a new car.  The more expensive the vehicle, the bigger the interest savings over the term. However, if the car was traded , stolen or totalled before the end of the loan, the owner lost some of the incentive.

Today almost all General Motors, Buick, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Pontiac vehicles have 0% for up to 60 months for the wholesale value of the car. Taxes and fees must be covered with a down payment. Consumers must have a minimum 700 FICO credit score and a debt- to- income ratio of 75% available, in most cases.  The 72 mos. for 1.9% is an attractive alternative on the 2009 Escalade, Chevy Tahoe and GMC Denali, keeping the payment around $800-$900.00 a month.

Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge are trying to stay competitive by offering 0% on 2009 models for 36 mos. up to 5.9% for 60 mos. Hardly a fair fight in the interest game, except where less expensive models are involved. The argument can be made that on a car under 30k, the idea of paying the car off sooner may be more appealing to the over 50 yr. old consumer, less worried about the higher monthly payment.

The import brands are not offering 0%, and only recently announced 2.9% to 5.9% for their preferred clients. The interest rate advertising was a back-handed effort to minimize any negative feelings from cash strapped consumers.  In difficult economic times, anti-foreign sentiment can rise, even with a general understanding by the American consumer  that most Toyota, Nissan, Honda, and Hyundai cars on the road today are built in the US and a large percentage of Chrysler 300, Dodge Minivan and Ram trucks are built in Mexico or Canada.

Protectionism aside, the need to get the US car business moving requires assistance from all sides, including the consumer. Fear has driven huge cash allotments out of the stock market and into the savings account.

Saving for a rainy day was common saying in the homes of many baby-boomers. Well folks, the rainy days are here and making good financial decisions will move those rain clouds faster than a lot of sideline moaning and groaning about the stock market losses. (I know from whence I speak, I feel your pain.)  There are an estimated two million vehicles over ten years of age that should be retired for scrap. I’m not going to go on a rant about Cash for Junkers, but I do want to say, those who have a stable income and a car over ten years of age should consider this a great time to take advantage of a new car. The 0% financing, depressed car prices and auto sales tax credit for 2009 are great reasons to put a smile on your face driving down the road in a safer, more fuel efficient car.charger

  5. CAR CZARS need to merge GM-CHRYSLER NOW.

March 8, 2009 by My Carlady

Las Vegas, NV–  The bleeding needs to stop. Before another dime is spent, the Washington Car Czar board of guru’s need to bring out the Ginzu knife and do the surgery to save the patient. 2008_chrysler_sebring_20115728-300x189In this case the patient is the ailing US auto industry and the remaining retirees and employees of those companies.   Being a member of this industry I would rather have the amputation than bleed to death, which is what will happen if the government continues with the drip IV of taxpayer funds.  Say ADDIOS to Chrysler and Dodge, merge Jeep with GM. 2009_dodge_avenger_20241742-300x189

Kiss Pontiac, Buick, Saturn and Saab goodbye, leaving Cadillac, GM trucks and Chevy cars in place.  As for Fiat, if you want to play in this market, buy one of these vacant plants, retool and retrain the displaced workers of Lordstown or Detroit and get to work. The US consumer is not holding their breath for your cars, but then again, maybe you’ve got something they’d love to own for under $15k and over 25mpg. 09 Saab2009_pontiac_solstice_20236106-300x1891I’m thrilled Ford hasn’t asked for a dime, that’s the best marketing money can’t buy.  Leave Lincoln, drop Mercury and keep Carroll Shelby as our legendary hero of muscle cars.  BTW Carroll, can you have an electric Mustang 500GT  ready for next year’s race?

The truth, IMHO, is evident. Make the brutal changes swiftly and get it behind us. The sooner we make the necessary moves to consolidate the most viable assets of GM and Chrysler, the sooner the country can start moving forward. –
