1. FORD plants change auto production worldwide

    August 31, 2010 by mycarlady

The world economy is truly affected by automobile production, where domestic and foreign name plates are no longer tied to import/export rules as home grown auto plants in every continent by every car company including Ford, GM, Chrysler, Toyota, Nissan, BMW, Hyundai, KIA and Honda, producing world cars like the Ford Fiesta, Mazda2, BMW x5 and Fiat 500.

This video from Detroit Auto News  journalists and videographers tell the story of the future of automotive production, technology and international cooperation. It is well worth watching.  Not only is the factory automated, but the employee integration hearkens back to Edward Deeming and his approach to quality manufacturing in the last century.

Consider other American-born endeavors ready to emerge in a new form as our economy struggles to stay competitive and grow in this new world order.  Look at the book business today, retailers now publish their own authors and retailers sell books online for Kindle, Nook and iPad use and colleges and universities are revisiting the textbook as a tool for innovation and interaction alongside online classes.

Post-secondary education is dramatically shifting to include international campus’ classes utilizing the best professors from around the world to teach in a virtual classroom where students log-in on their own schedule and work in study groups across time zones.

All of these re-created business concepts allow us to improve ourselves and the world at large. Welcome to the next generation of economic stability, it will surely require understanding and cooperation not fear mongering and protectionism.
