Three Nissan Maxima Upgrades You Can Complete for Under $100

For the past two decades, the Nissan Maxima has been either a mid-size or full-size model used primarily as a passenger car for transportation between home, work, school, and more.  From its boxier roots to its current streamlined design, the Maxima has always been built for usefulness and versatility, so owners could get as much use out of their cars as possible.  Such workhorse passenger cars have a lot to offer, but the tradeoff comes in terms of competitive power and stylish design.  If you’d like to improve those two facets of your Maxima but don’t have the money to spend on expensive add-ons or professional installation, see how the following three upgrades can be purchased AND installed for under $100.
Performance Chips
If you’re looking for some serious horsepower gains but don’t have the budget to purchase a turbocharger or upgraded engine, consider picking up a Nissan Maxima performance chip.  Inexpensive and easy to install, you’ll be able to complete the installation in less than 30 minutes even if you’re an automotive novice, using only simple automobile tools to complete the job.  A Nissan Maxima performance chip can potentially increase your car’s horsepower output potential by up to 60HP, as well as provide an additional 4-7mpg in fuel savings for enhanced overall fuel economy.
Seat Covers
Ripped up upholstery, juice and soda stains, and much more can really take away for the aesthetic appeal of your Maxima’s interior.  Fortunately, you don’t necessarily need to purchase brand new seats in order to repair said damage.  Instead, you can always opt to use a seat cover.  Easy to pull over any seat inside your Maxima and form fitting to boot, you can spend less than a Ben Franklin and get a dramatically improved interior look.  Plus, install time is nearly zero, so long as you can manage to pull a cover down over a seat without professional help.
Fog Lights
Whether you drive daily through the San Francisco hills or through the mountains of Virginia, chances are you see a lot of fog on the road during certain parts of the year.  Many Maxima models aren’t equipped with full fog lights, and even if they were installed, these lights can often go dim over the years.  Though there are certainly more expensive models out there, there are plenty of aftermarket Maxima fog lights you can get for under a hundred bucks.  These lights will help you see better in thick fog in a way that high beams would only make worse.  Sure, the installation might be a bit more complicated than the above two processes, but they’re still easier to install than a set of  HID headlights.
