1. CHRYSLER-Jeep-FIAT what’s left?

    CHARGER MAY LIVE ON

As the Bankruptcy courts determine the best avenue for CHrysler’s survival, sell off the assets individually or as a whole to FIAT.  The question should be, “HOW FAST CAN FIAT IMPORT PRODUCT to the dealerships?”

While this doesn’t help the car plants, it does help the dealerships and the employees who have had nothing to sell.  It gives the dealer an ITALIAN product, which may have enough style, panache and excitement to draw economy minded consumers into the Chrysler showrooms. If nothing else the FIAT 500 and others are perhaps as interesting as the new KIA SOUL and Hyundai Genesis. An infusion of new FIAT  models will also give the new company time to evaluate interest and appetite for FIAT cars, not to mention their diesel trucks. While diesel isn’t the cleanest fuel, the optional diesel engine is not foreign to Dodge Cummins owners or VW/Mercedes Benz buyers. FIAT may also find a way to cure the woes of the EPA-inflicted CUMMINS DPF problem. (maybe)

As dealers and pension managers try to stop the bankruptcy procedings with court actions, perhaps a more reasonable approach would be to offer the HOPE of an immediate sales boost through the infusion of 2010 FIAT products onto lots by September 2009.

Understand the issue for life at bankruptcy amounts to Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge products so limited in consumer desire and value, showrooms will  be left with half the selection of FORD, or TOYOTA.  CHOOSE FROM: Jeep Wrangler, Patriot, Liberty and Grand Cherokee, Dodge Challenger, Charger, Caliber, Ram and SPRINTER. Chrysler 300, Town and Country…  The other issue is where is the GMAC/GMC auto lending support, long promised by the Cerberus management? Dealers have yet to see a contract cashed and will they view FIAT products favorably?

    Challenger may survive bankruptcy

The PEAPOD has gone stealth since the EARTH DAY announcement which promptly commenced with the bankruptcy filing. The PEAPOD could add some spark to the Chrysler showroom, but miscellaneous rumors about Mitsubishi and GEM have muted interest like an April shower.

The Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge franchise dealers deserve a better deal than the black list treatment they’ve gotten thus far. Demands to build fancy mausoleums in this economy are both irresponsible and unnecessary to operating a profitable business. Long-standing employees and customers are anxious to see this situation resolved with a fair hand. Judge Arthur Gonzales needs to learn more about the relationship of the consumer and the brand(s) as the debate continues in court.

  2. 50% off NEW JEEPS in LV

May 24, 2009 by My Carlady

HELLO LAS VEGAS!  Dealerships advertising their inventory LIQUIDATION of CHRYSLER-JEEP-DODGE cars and trucks are pounding your phones, radios and newspapers this Memorial Day weekend.

CAN YOU REALLY BUY a NEW 2009 DODGE,CHRYSLER or JEEP for 50% off?

THE TRUTH: IT HURTS!  NO. The reality is dealers are trying to keep people coming in the doors by advertising CRAZY prices, hoping you will switch to a lesser vehicle or something USED, when you find out the best deal you can make is not 50% of the MSRP.  The reality is you can probably get a deal at invoice or a few bucks less, plus the deduction for REBATES.

(2007 and 2008 new models may be as much as 60% off but check your KBB.com and call me first.)

BUT WATCHOUT for lower trade-in appraisals or additional fees.  The behind-the-scenes legal moves between Chrysler and their Black-listed dealers is stuff for the movies, but in the end, CHRYSLER has PROMISED to take all the 2009 inventory back from the dealerships that won’t merge to become Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep stores. The costs are significant for the dealers who have invested heavily in buildings, personnel and customer retention. Chrysler won’t “buy out” dealers, so the scramble is on to merge or find a different brand for the building.  That means nothing to you.

If you expect to make a “BID” or “OFFER” of less than 50% -75% off MSRP, don’t expect much reaction from the dealer.  There is SO LITTLE inventory on the HOT PRODUCTS: Charger, Challenger, JEEPS, Town & Country vans, the dealers are going to use every play in their book to make some profit on the few buyers actually credit-worthy to buy.

So if you aren’t into “playing car dealer games” stay out of the showrooms and CALL/EMAIL me.  I’ll tell you what the true price is and help you get the RIGHT deal without the BS*.
