1. Will GM CEo keep his Golden Parachute?

    03/29/2009 by

Las Vegas, NV— The Obama ‘kick in the ass’ has finally taken effect as GM boss Rick Wagoner hits the road.  I guess his theory of  “the company would be better off with me running it…” didn’t play well with Washington. His dynasty didn’t play well in Peoria or any city where car buyers were voting their wallet on Toyota, Nissan and Honda.

The Chevy Volt may be a great idea but it’s TEN years behind the Prius, or Insight and now eleven other hybrid vehicles on dealer lots.  What will happen next?  Here’s my suggestion:

    1. Nardelli should take the high road and resign while it looks like the right thing to do, instead of the President’s idea.

    2. Slap GM and Chrysler into the real world with a  2 month packaged Reorganization Bankruptcy and get it over with.

    3. Chop the duplication in the car lines and up the production R&D on batteries and alternative fuels.

    4.  Fix the union promise. Will the Canadian Auto Workers see the light. Chrysler says there is a $19.00/hr GAP between where they need to be and where they are today.  Considering Chrysler sales are in the toilet, and plants have been idle, I guess the wage discrepency only counts when you are working. Hello CAW, watch the UAW in the weeks ahead.  Work for what they can afford to pay or don’t work at all. It’s simple. Employment or Unemployment, all Americans are looking at the options as we head out the door to make a paycheck. We all have a choice. Work or No Work?

    5. Get the GM and Chrysler Financial bank to start spending their bail-out funds on car loans for consumers that need to buy a car. any car, new or used.

And finally, no more cash for these car companies until the books balance on the money they’ve already received.

Tell GM and Chrysler executives; “You’ve been cut off from the tax payer’s allowance.”  To Mr. Wagoner and hopefully soon, Mr. Nardelli; “ before you go, leave that golden parachute at the door. ”

  2. Chrysler buys back DPF problems-alternative fuel is next.

    by

Las Vegas, NV–  Last month a reader asked me what to do about his 2008 Dodge RAM 6.7 Cummins with all the usual problems well documented on this blog.

I told him, honestly, “the DPF delete would resolve the check engine issues but  it will never be the truck he thought he was buying”. I suggested he push to get the buyback since the truck had very low miles

Today I got this email …Here is his response… .

    Sarah,
Thanks for the feedback. I wanted to let you know that after all the headache, Chrysler was pretty good to me: They paid me back 100% of every payment and my down, plus 100% of every invoice I produced for improvements (bedliner, floor mats, etc.). Their calculation for use of the vehicle was about $2000, which turned out to be $XXX per month that I owned the truck. This definitely restored some of my faith in Chrysler.
NOW, I have erased his name because these buybacks come with GAG ORDERS, which say you aren’t supposed to tell anyone…

For those of you still under Chrysler warranty, act fast, get the pressure on and wave this flag if you need to. Those owners out of Dodge Ram Cummins engine 5yr-100k mileage warranty, I don’t know what to say about the possibilities of a buyback because most of you have documentation going back to the beginning of ownership. You can investigate lemon-law attorney’s in your area.

However, I can tell you that there is an amazing retorfit kit coming to market that with make your Cummins a bi-fuel Diesel/Natural gas burner.  In some states Gas Cos. fleets of  trucks are being upfitted right now, although most have been Chevy’s.  The DPF goes away, the truck hauls a** and there is no SMOG!  The best part is you can get HUGE tax deductions that pay for the retrofit every year you register it!  A tax credit for the retrofit unit, plus a savings of .50 for every gallon you burn of the alternative fuel plus a auto sales tax credit on the opurchase of the truck!  HOLY COW!  Over time a Dodge Cummins retrofit would pay for itself and the fuel you burn and the purchase price of the truck!!!  Not to mention, the Cummins Diesel is the best engine in the WORLD, it’s the DPF that has made this truck sour in many minds.

I believe the retrofit will be a huge opportunity to once again polish the Cummins Diesel name. Now the unfortunate part of this is the cost. The initial quotes are over 20K. That’s nothing to sneeze about, but the long term returns are amazing, and the costs are coming down as EPA certification gets easiers and less expensive. The previous administration has made alternative fuel product certification an income stream that only the bigger, richer companies can afford to pay-to-play.  I’m hoping Prez Obama streamlines this problem so more entrepenuers can bring innovation to the marketplace. Small business drives this economy so maybe Chrysler would like to consider this as an alternative to thier existing DPF problem. (Call me if you need more info. Mr. Nardelli.)

To all my Dodge Cummins owners with DPF issues…Keep coming back here as I get more data and show you the latest MYCARLADY video on how it works!

Imagine running your Dodge Ram Cummins Diesel on Natural Gas, Propane or even ELECTRIC!!!!  Stay with me here, as I keep digging on how this latest tax stimulus opportunity comes to Dodge Cummins owners everywhere.
