Happy BLACK FRIDAY! LEMON LAWS, class action law suits, auto manufacturers buybacks are becoming a constant drone as car owners rant about poorly made products and the “bailout”.
Expensive trucks that don’t run right… For the past three years I have been writing about the constant REGEN issues on the Dodge Cummins Diesel. My readers have suggested the Ford Powerstroke 6.4L has not been as difficult when it comes to engine codes, constant filter/turbo/sensor replacements and surly dealership service departments insisting the driver is at fault. I have heard everything from “you put bad fuel it the truck, now you need a new engine for $17,000.00″ to “You aren’t driving it right.” Consumers have spent an average of $50,000 on these work/pleasure trucks with the aim of driving to work and off to play, towing or not. Many of the clients posting here have had many diesel trucks over the years and their number one complaint about their 2007 and 2008 models with the new federally mandated emission is the lousy fuel economy. This is often on top of the HUGE annoyance of downtime, especially when the truck is a daily work-horse. You can find out more about these problems by visiting the Ford Diesel forum.
I have recently had the pleasure of video recording the installation of a DPF-r module and pipe, which as of this week is “running perfectly and my fuel economy is up 2mpg just driving around town,” according to the owner. You can see the entire install process and order the unit at a discount by linking through this blog. Replace Ford Powerstroke DPF
If you really feel like you want to pursue legal action as in LEMON LAWS, I have a few resources you can check out online including a list of the LEMON LAW in your state and attorney’s that practice these cases. I also have a great link for MANUFACTURER RECALLS! This is all great information thanks to the folks at CARLEMON.com

PLease feel free to respond with any experiences you have had with Ford Buybacks. I have personally had a client that purchased the 2004 with the “sudden acceleration” issue right out of the box. 5,000 miles later Ford wrote him a check. Now he’s in the 2007 Dodge 6.7 Cummins. He has just modified his truck with the DPF-r delete so I’ll let you know what he reports next week.
Some posters to this website have noted sucess with having Dodge buyback their trucks, however, it seems to be a aviable result. I have also noted that having a lawyer seems to get their attention.
God luck, whatever you decide to do, delete it or sue the manufacturer.—
